Armada Elementary will host weekly video Announcements (Historical figure video spotlights) focusing on African-American figures that have made a positive impact on society. Students will receive instructional lessons, read fiction/non-fiction texts and participate in activities focusing on influential African American figures in history and elements of the African American culture. The month-long event will be culminated by student created presentations/videos/essays on African-American inventors, scientists, civic leaders, and historical figures.
