MORENO VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
Dual Immersion Program
The Moreno Valley Unified School District is proud to continue its eighth year of the Dual Language Immersion Program (DLI).
THE GOAL OF DLI IS
- To provide students with the opportunity to attain both Spanish and English language proficiency.
- For students to be bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural through attainment of language and academic proficiency in English and Spanish, positive self-esteem, cultural awareness, acceptance, and sensitivity.
DLI reflects the 90:10 model where the instructional day consists of 90% Spanish and 10% English in Kindergarten. The percentage of English instruction increases by 10% each year through third grade. In fourth through twelfth grades, students receive instruction in both English and Spanish at a 50/50 percentage.
ARMADA ELEMENTARY (K-5) is a DLI School Site!!!
